Notes on our meeting - 08/01/25

Thanks go out to everyone who joined together at our first meeting of the year. The weather and sickness dented our numbers a little but we took the opportunity to discuss our writing plans for the year ahead. It seems that 2025 will turn out to be a productive year for our members with several having kick-started projects ranging from full length novels through to novellas, stand-up comedy scripts, poetry and film scripts. We also discussed the possibility of supporting an adult literary festival at some future date in the year and Denise will carry the proposal forward to see if the council will offer some form of sponsorship. All in all, it was a meeting full of optimism and President Trump willing, we will all meet again next month on Wednesday 12th February.

Notes on our meeting - 04/12/24

Thanks go out to everyone who joined together at our last meeting of the year on Wednesday December 4th. Just to be clear, there will be no meeting on our normal scheduled date of Wednesday December 11th (the second Wednesday of the month). Extra thanks go to Denise and Christine who supplied the truly excellent Christmas themed cakes and biscuits. We issued all the ordered copies of 'Alone' and praise must be lavished upon everyone who managed to have the right money with them. (Ho ... Ho ... Ho ...!) We have a further order for seven units and if you wish to add to that number please email Quentin. The order will be placed with Amazon on Monday. It's been a busy and eventful year leaving us all with much to discuss. The 2024 Anthology 'Alone' is now on the bookshelves so we need to get down to some hard promotional work. A set of 'promo' images can be downloaded from the web site (PROMO link in Menu) and a set of animations provided upon request. (by email to Quentin) There were several ideas launched as to what we might do as a group next year. Various possibilities were discussed and everyone agreed to come back at our January meeting on Wednesday 8th with a set of outline proposals. In the meantime we wish all HWG members a very content and restful time at Christmas and an energised and healthy New Year. See you all again on January 8th and a Happy Christmas to you all!
